Objective
The prompt for this project was to create a platform with the purpose of elevating and showcasing a community of practitioners who had not been historically well represented in the design profession. I chose to create a platform to highlight women of color, particularly illustrators, artists, and graphic designers.
Approach
I decided to name the project Visuelles, which combines the two words “visual” in English and word “elles” which means female in French, to denote the visual representation of women who are themselves visual creators. The use of lines and boxes as structure was created to showcase their work, much like an art collector would frame art.
